FlowFactor, an IBM Business Partner, worked with a European public transit provider struggling to modernize 65 legacy Java applications running on IBM WebSphere Application Server. Manual, siloed deployment processes made releases slow and error-prone, taking up to eight weeks and creating long maintenance windows and operational risk.

Using IBM WebSphere Hybrid Edition, IBM Transformation Advisor, WebSphere Liberty, Red Hat OpenShift, and Jenkins automation, FlowFactor modernized and containerized the applications while introducing DevOps and end-to-end deployment automation. The result was dramatic: full deployment cycles dropped from up to a month to about an hour, infrastructure upgrades fell from months to one or two days, and deployment time was reduced by more than 99%.
