Faster time to insights with high-performance data storage for AI research

The University of Queensland, a leading research institution, needed to simplify data capture, storage, analysis, and management for its high-performance computing and AI research environment. Working with IBM and using IBM Storage Scale software, the university faced the challenge of supporting rapidly growing data volumes and enabling faster collaboration across complex, data-intensive projects.

IBM implemented a unified, high-performance data fabric powered by IBM Storage Scale and later added IBM Storage Scale System to its fastest HPC environment. The result was major performance gains, including ROI in just two hours, hundreds of hours of processing time saved each week, and about 74% faster runtimes for medical imaging analysis, helping accelerate time to discovery.
