Faster processes and greater productivity—despite fast-changing regulations

BBVA Argentina, a leading bank in foreign trade, faced mounting pressure from rapidly changing Central Bank regulations that pushed transaction processing times from about two days to five or six days. The bank needed a way to maintain strict compliance, avoid adding headcount, and reduce manual rework in its foreign trade operations. IBM Process Mining helped BBVA identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the new processes.

IBM implemented IBM Process Mining on IBM Cloud and Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud, using event logs to visualize workflows, pinpoint rework, and analyze delays. As a result, BBVA cut foreign trade transaction processing time by more than 70%, increased transaction capacity by 20%, and improved customer service while continuing to meet regulatory requirements.
