The customer, SES Platform Services, a subsidiary of satellite operator SES, faced the challenge of needing a faster, more reliable file transfer mechanism to speed up video content ingest and delivery to Video On Demand (VOD) platforms worldwide, which surpassed the limitations of their previous FTP and physical tape-based methods.
IBM provided its Aspera suite, including Aspera Connect Server for high-speed transfers and Aspera Orchestrator for workflow automation. This solution from IBM enabled SES to reliably ingest three terabytes of data daily from customers and efficiently distribute files to global VOD platforms, streamlining their entire media management process.
