A IBM Case Study
Farmers Cooperative Society, a farmer-owned co-op in Iowa, needed to keep its 24x7 operations running while avoiding nightly system downtime that forced manual price tracking, blocked order edits, and caused extra support calls. With IBM and IBM Power servers, the co-op sought a way to protect data and keep farmers connected to market prices during backups.
IBM implemented IBM PowerHA Full System FlashCopy (FSFC), allowing backups to run without taking systems offline and increasing backup frequency from once nightly to three times a day. As a result, Farmers Cooperative Society improved data protection, enabled daytime testing without disrupting live systems, and reduced total support calls by 50%.
