A IBM Case Study

Facilities management for healthcare goes digital

Royal Melbourne Hospital, one of Australia’s leading healthcare providers, needed to replace fragmented, paper-based facilities management processes with a more efficient and transparent digital approach. Working with IBM and its IBM TRIRIGA integrated workplace management system, the hospital aimed to improve service delivery, data visibility, and compliance across a large, complex health network.

IBM implemented TRIRIGA to digitize task management, mobile service requests, reporting, and asset-related workflows. The results included more than 1.5 million tasks processed, over 500,000 service requests handled in the first year, a 34% reduction in paper, printing, and paging costs, and major speed gains such as an 85% improvement in discharge-clean response times and an 84% improvement in patient-transfer response times.
