Kruger Inc., a diversified Canadian industrial products company, faced challenges in enhancing budgeting and forecasting and driving operational efficiencies within its containerboard division. To address this, they worked with IBM and its partner Globalsult, utilizing IBM Cognos TM1 software to gain better insight into financial and operational data.

The solution implemented by IBM provided a new automated budgeting and forecasting process, along with a specialized order booking tool built on Cognos TM1. This gave Kruger greater understanding of business drivers like material costs and exchange rates, optimized production scheduling, and reduced order lead times. The results included improved raw materials planning, increased machine utilization, and faster customer order fulfillment.
