Omron Europe, the regional sales and marketing arm for Omron Corporation, needed to overcome geographic and organizational barriers to improve collaboration and share knowledge across its more than 20 European countries. The company sought to streamline daily work processes and better leverage its collective expertise to enhance customer service. To address this challenge, they worked with vendor IBM to implement a solution using IBM WebSphere Portal and IBM Connections software.

The IBM solution resulted in the creation of Ozone, a unified, mobile-enabled intranet portal. This platform integrated applications, corporate information, and a social business network into a single, role-based access point for employees. The results included improved sales productivity, as staff gained immediate mobile access to customer data, and enhanced cross-border collaboration, allowing experts to be quickly located and customer insights to be shared effectively across the organization.
