A IBM Case Study
FIS, a leader in financial services technology and card processing, needed to reduce the risk of service outages and improve the speed, resiliency, and availability of its “always on” services. To meet these goals, FIS partnered with IBM and used IBM Z-based infrastructure and business resiliency services to support its mission-critical operations and disaster recovery needs.
IBM helped FIS migrate to two new Tier 3/4 data centres, implement updated mainframe, storage, network, and virtual tape technology, and test and cut over workloads with no client impact. The result was a significant uplift in resiliency, the ability to switch sites between data centres, improved operational efficiency and data protection, and a highly resilient core infrastructure that reduced downtime and eliminated much of the need for labor-intensive disaster recovery testing.
