Enhancing processes and security while moving toward the goal of zero trust

Commercial International Bank S.A.E. (CIB), Egypt’s leading private sector bank, wanted to strengthen security and move toward a zero-trust model while improving identity and access management across its large workforce and digital channels. CIB turned to IBM Security and IBM consulting to replace paper-based, manual identity processes and reduce risk across employee access, privileged identities, and customer authentication.

IBM implemented a set of security and governance solutions including IBM Security Guardium, IBM Identity and Access Management, IBM Security Identity Governance and Intelligence, IBM Privileged Access Management, and IBM Security Verify Privilege Manager. The result was faster, more secure operations: new-hire access and staff transfers dropped from more than a week to under a day, many tasks were reduced to minutes, and CIB now manages more than 8,000 employee identities with less manual effort while improving visibility, compliance, and customer security.
