Case Study: O.C. Tanner optimizes resources and drives innovation with IBM Turbonomic

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the O.C. Tanner Case Study

Enabling developers to deliver rewarding experiences

O.C. Tanner, a global employee-recognition company, needed to give its developers the right resources at the right time in a fast-paced Kubernetes-based environment. Managing more than 1,500 deployments on its Akkeris platform was time-consuming and led to overestimated container sizing, distracting developers from building new features. IBM helped address this with IBM Turbonomic.

IBM Turbonomic automatically optimized resources across O.C. Tanner’s stack, from pods and containers to nodes and AWS infrastructure, using real-time demand. As a result, the team reduced manual sizing work, improved performance, and unlocked cost savings; O.C. Tanner also plans to use IBM Turbonomic’s API to build self-service sizing recommendations into its PaaS.
