PT Wings Surya, a leading Indonesian consumer goods manufacturer, needed a better way to protect mission-critical data and keep backups reliable as its ERP, analytics, and virtual machine environment grew more complex. Its previous backup approach relied on manual processes, scripts, and tape storage, creating long recovery times and risking disruption to business operations. IBM Spectrum Protect Plus was chosen to modernize backup and recovery.

IBM implemented IBM Spectrum Protect Plus, with IBM Systems Lab Services supporting the rollout, to back up hundreds of virtual machines and core systems. The results included backups completed about 40% faster, reducing backup windows from eight hours to five, and an estimated 60% reduction in backup costs by removing tape and manual programming. PT Wings Surya also gained stronger disaster recovery, improved uptime, and faster restores, helping IBM strengthen service continuity for the business.
