Electrolux automates IT and supports ambitious carbon reduction goals

Electrolux, the global appliance maker based in Stockholm, needed a better way to manage a highly complex IT environment spanning 10,000 servers in 65 countries and about 100,000 events per day. With IBM and its Netcool platform, Electrolux sought to unify monitoring and reduce the manual effort required to identify real incidents amid massive operational noise.

IBM implemented AI-driven automation with IBM Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps on top of IBM Netcool to correlate events into actionable incidents and speed up issue resolution. The result was a dramatic reduction in IT resolution time from three weeks to about one hour, while a common repair task now saves about 1,000 hours per year and also supports Electrolux’s efficiency and sustainability goals.
