A IBM Case Study
The Nancy & Stephen Grand Israel National Center for Personalized Medicine (G-INCPM), an advanced life sciences research facility, needed to quickly and economically expand its IT capacity to support a growing number of researchers while maintaining complete control and security over its infrastructure. To meet this challenge, G-INCPM worked with vendor IBM to deploy a Prefabricated Modular Data Center (PMDC) solution.
IBM Global Technology Services oversaw the design, build, and deployment of the PMDC in collaboration with Schneider Electric. The solution was deployed in just seven months, which was significantly faster than building a traditional data center. IBM helped G-INCPM achieve a 40-50% reduction in capital costs and 15% lower power and energy consumption, allowing the facility to rapidly scale its research capabilities while retaining full control over its IT resources.
