Drives connected cars into the data fast lane with cloud-native technologies

Travelping GmbH needed a way to support connected-car IoT services despite EU data protection rules and network latency that could delay safety-critical insights. The company turned to IBM Cloud infrastructure products and its own Kubernetes deployment to build a cloud-native platform that could keep vehicle data compliant and closer to the cars.

With IBM, Travelping implemented a scalable, containerized packet gateway solution on bare metal servers and Kubernetes. The result was more than 95% lower IoT latency for real-time vehicle safety insights, plus more efficient use of commodity hardware and the ability to keep data in-country by transporting payloads to where the vehicles are.
