Digital transformation drives dishwashing innovation

Winterhalter, the commercial dishwashing systems manufacturer, needed to accelerate its digital transformation and move its heavily customized SAP landscape to SAP S/4HANA while improving performance, scalability, and sustainability. With support from IBM and IBM Business Partner BLUE Consult, Winterhalter chose an on-premises infrastructure built on IBM Power10 and IBM FlashSystem to support future business models like pay-per-wash and connected wash.

IBM helped Winterhalter deploy four IBM Power L1024 servers, IBM SAN Volume Controller, and IBM FlashSystem storage across two data centers. The new platform consolidated the server landscape from seven servers to four, increased performance and capacity, and cut energy consumption by nearly 50%, with more than 80% projected energy savings over five years versus Intel-based alternatives.
