A IBM Case Study
The Co-operative Bank needed to separate its IT landscape from The Co-op Group and build an independent architecture without disrupting customer services, while managing a highly scrutinized and complex migration across hundreds of applications and servers. It partnered with IBM Consulting to plan and execute the transformation, using IBM’s large-scale banking migration expertise and IBM Garage/Cloud methods to reduce risk.
IBM delivered the solution in two major phases: creating new data centers and migrating critical services, then completing the final technology separation across multiple workstreams. The results were strong: more than 250 applications and 800+ servers were migrated with a 100% success rate, the core banking wave finished over four hours early, and the final separation had almost zero impact on the business or customers.
