Case Study: NetApp achieves faster global core file transfers with IBM Aspera

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the NetApp Case Study

Delivering critical data to the customer success team at maximum speed

NetApp Customer Success Services (CSS) needed a reliable, high-speed method to transfer massive customer core files, often exceeding 100 GB, from anywhere in the world to their support centers. Their previous methods, including HTTPS, FTP, and even couriering physical drives, were too slow, unreliable, and insecure for these large-scale data transfers.

IBM implemented its Aspera software suite, utilizing the FASP protocol, to create an automated, high-speed file transfer solution. This resulted in transfer speeds up to 10 times faster than before, eliminated the need for a costly $1 million infrastructure build-out in Asia, and provided enterprise-grade security and reliability for global data ingestion.
