A IBM Case Study
Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster, faced the challenge of reliably exchanging extremely large (10GB to 1TB) and time-sensitive news and video content with global partners. Their previous FTP solution was too slow and prone to failure, risking delays in delivering fresh content to a worldwide audience of over 135 million people. To overcome this, they turned to IBM for a high-speed file transfer solution.
IBM implemented its Aspera software suite, including Aspera faspex and Aspera Console. This solution provided fast, secure, and manageable global file transfers, with the ability to prioritize critical content. The results for Deutsche Welle were significant, with IBM's technology increasing transfer speeds up to five times faster than FTP. This enabled the reliable and quick exchange of files as large as 1 TB, ensuring timely news delivery and providing a major competitive advantage.
