Case Study: Fransabank boosts banking performance and uptime with IBM storage and Power Systems

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Fransabank Case Study

Delighting customers with responsive and reliable in-branch, web and mobile banking

Fransabank, one of Lebanon's largest banks, faced a challenge with its core systems straining under rapid business growth, which put critical overnight and month-end batch processing at risk of overrunning and impacting daytime customer service. To ensure performance and reliability, the bank partnered with IBM to implement a new infrastructure.

IBM's solution involved deploying its Power 870 servers with POWER8 processors, the IBM DS8870 and IBM FlashSystem storage, and IBM Spectrum Virtualize software. This new environment delivered a 40% performance boost, saving over three hours on nightly processing and cutting more than five hours from monthly financial consolidation, which eliminated the risk of overruns and provided faster business insight.
