Credem boosts speed and efficiency with IBM Process Mining and IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation

Credito Emiliano S.p.A. (Credem), a major Italian bank, wanted to improve its “wellbanking” experience but lacked end-to-end visibility into processes, making it hard to spot bottlenecks, modernize legacy work, and govern automation effectively. To address this, Credem turned to IBM Process Mining and IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation.

IBM helped Credem analyze and automate key back-office and customer-facing processes, including credit checks, loan processing, and credit card approvals. The results were significant: loan processing time for employees dropped by 70%, credit card approval time was cut from four days to one, and Credem saved about EUR 1.4 million by automating 91 processes. IBM also helped the bank improve customer service and reduce paper-based work, while streamlining other tasks such as bank account closure from 20 days to 10.
