A IBM Case Study
COPROB, one of Italy's largest sugar beet processors, faced the challenge of boosting efficiency in its core business and supporting its new biomass energy venture. With 5,700 partner farms to manage using largely manual and ad-hoc systems, the company lacked the integrated data and predictive analytics needed for growth and meeting new supply contracts. To address this, COPROB partnered with vendor IBM to implement a solution based on SAP software.
IBM Global Business Services designed and deployed an integrated SAP solution, including SAP Customer Relationship Management and IBM ILOG Transportation Analyst. This provided COPROB with a centralized system for managing its entire agricultural supply chain, from farm data to optimizing the scheduling of 900 daily truck deliveries. The solution improved relationships with farmers through better invoicing and data sharing, enhanced planning for sugar and biomass production, and opened up new business opportunities, all while being delivered on time and within budget.
