A IBM Case Study
CleanSpark, a leader in microgrid development, needed a more powerful way to optimize increasingly complex energy models as it grew beyond its earlier MATLAB-based approach. The company had to account for millions of variables across different customer requirements, utility rates, storage constraints, and sustainability goals, and it wanted a solution that would fit into its existing technology stack.
IBM provided IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio, implemented with help from IBM Business Partner Newcomp Analytics. The software integrated seamlessly, allowed CleanSpark to build its optimization capability in months, and delivered significant time savings; after six months of testing and successful benchmarks, CleanSpark bought perpetual licenses. IBM also helped CleanSpark differentiate in the market by enabling more advanced optimization and generating valuable data to improve future projects.
