A IBM Case Study
CarrefourSA, a major multinational retail group operating in Turkey, faced intense competition and set an aggressive goal to grow revenues to USD 2.7 billion. To achieve this, the company needed to expand from 240 to 750 stores by opening one new store every day, a process that was previously taking up to a month due to its complex and poorly integrated legacy systems. This slow expansion was a significant obstacle to reaching its revenue target.
Working with IBM Global Business Services, CarrefourSA implemented an end-to-end SAP solution, including SAP ERP and SAP HANA, to integrate and automate its business processes. This new system streamlined everything from HR onboarding to point-of-sale setup. As a result, IBM helped CarrefourSA slash the time to open a new store by 96%, enabling the retailer to open stores in a single day instead of a month. This allowed for a 33% expansion of its store footprint, which was a critical driver in helping the company progress toward its multi-billion dollar revenue goal.
