Case Study: CareCore National achieves a 50% reduction in requirements-related defects with IBM Rational DevOps solution

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the CareCore National Case Study

CareCore National uses DevOps approach to cut defects by 50 percent

CareCore National, a specialty benefit management company serving over 30 million people, faced slow, reactive software development with fragmented tools and an estimated 70% of defects caused by requirements problems. Having already used IBM Rational Quality Manager, CareCore turned to IBM to shift from a project-focused approach to a more strategic, integrated DevOps-style development process.

IBM implemented IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation, IBM Rational Focal Point and IBM Rational Team Concert, integrated with the existing Rational Quality Manager on the IBM Rational Jazz platform to centralize requirements, trace work items and align testing. The integrated IBM solution shortened project turnaround (first project from six months to two for the next), provided broader requirements insight and is expected to reduce defects caused by requirements by 50% as usage expands.
