Case Study: Clarks achieves faster omni-channel retail growth with IBM

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Clarks Case Study

Capturing fast-moving footwear fashion trends with responsive, omni-channel retail from IBM and SAP

Clarks, one of the UK’s leading footwear brands, needed to respond faster to fast-changing fashion trends and support an omni-channel retail experience for customers buying anytime, anywhere. Its existing systems could not keep up with the volume and pace of change, limiting the company’s ability to launch new digital channels and services quickly. Clarks worked with IBM to modernize its SAP environment and build a more responsive platform for growth.

IBM helped Clarks move SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA into a high-performance private cloud on IBM Power Systems, with IBM FlashSystem storage and support from Elyzium. The new setup delivered a 50% increase in compute capacity with no rise in operational costs, 90% faster provisioning for digital services, and a 2x improvement in end-user application performance, enabling Clarks to bring new services to market much faster.
