Change Machine, a nonprofit tech organization focused on building financial security for low-income communities, needed to improve its fintech recommendation engine so it could better reflect customer data, adapt over time, and offer more relevant, inclusive products for financial coaches and their clients. It partnered with IBM and the IBM Data Science and AI Elite team to make its recommendations more data-driven and scalable.
IBM implemented machine learning models using IBM Cloud Pak for Data as a Service, IBM Watson Studio with AutoAI, and IBM Cognos Dashboard Embedded, then integrated the results into Change Machine’s Salesforce app. The new AI-powered engine increased ongoing usage of recommended fintech products from 60% to 98%, while the project also produced live operational dashboards and was delivered in just six weeks of agile sprints.
