A IBM Case Study

Preview of the Hellenic Glass Industry Case Study

Building a vibrant, cost-efficient global manufacturing business with IBM and SAP

Hellenic Glass Industry, a glass manufacturer and distributor with sites in Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Romania, needed to replace fragmented, spreadsheet-based operations with a more integrated way to manage production, inventory and reporting. Working with IBM, the company set out to gain tighter control over its processes, reduce costs, and improve visibility across the group.

IBM implemented SAP S/4HANA through IBM Services for Managed SAP Applications on IBM Power Systems infrastructure, creating a standardized, company-wide platform for finance, logistics and operations. The result was a 63% faster month-end close, with books now closing on the 8th day instead of the 22nd, and IBM also helped Hellenic Glass Industry predict up to 50% higher operational efficiency and up to 80% faster group-level reporting.
