A IBM Case Study
Karnov Group, a fast-growing legal information services provider in Scandinavia, needed to modernize finance processes that had become too complex and spreadsheet-dependent to scale. As the company expanded across Denmark and Sweden, its budgeting, consolidation, and reporting workflows were creating heavy manual effort and making it harder to close the books quickly and support growing stakeholder demands. IBM was chosen to help address this challenge with IBM Planning Analytics.
Working with IBM and Kapacity, Karnov Group implemented IBM Planning Analytics to automate budgeting and financial consolidation, improve validation, and create a more auditable and transparent finance process. The result was less manual spreadsheet work, faster month-end closing, shorter budget cycles, and improved confidence in the numbers; Karnov Group reported receiving monthly consolidated figures several days earlier than before and expects substantial time savings in future budget cycles.
