A IBM Case Study
Brazil's Ministry of Justice faced the challenge of identifying and investigating illicit assets linked to corruption and organized crime. The process of manually analyzing terabytes of structured and unstructured data from sources like bank records and social media was extremely complex and time-consuming, hindering their investigations.
To solve this, the Ministry implemented IBM Watson Explorer through IBM Business Partner Via Appia. This IBM solution automated data mining, enabling investigators to rapidly collate and analyze massive datasets. The results were exponential acceleration in investigations and the identification of USD 8.9 billion in illicit assets, freeing up thousands of person-hours for more critical analytical work.
