A IBM Case Study

Preview of the BPW-Hungária Case Study

BPW-Hungária adapts fast to market changes with real-time insights from IBM and SAP

BPW-Hungária, a manufacturer of heavy-duty running gear and braking systems for the agricultural sector, needed a better way to forecast demand and plan production after COVID-19 exposed the limits of its manual processes. The company wanted real-time insights to improve accuracy, respond faster to market fluctuations, and support its broader digital transformation with IBM and SAP solutions.

IBM helped BPW-Hungária replace legacy applications with SAP S/4HANA running on IBM Power E950 servers and IBM FlashSystem storage, with IBM PowerVM, PowerVC, and FileNet Content Manager supporting performance, resilience, and data protection. The project went live on time and within budget, cut total cost of ownership by 20% versus an equivalent x86 platform, and gave BPW-Hungária a stronger foundation for automation, real-time analytics, and shorter lead times for customers.
