The company explored blockchain through IBM Cloud to improve real-time visibility across its supply chain and reduce long fulfillment delays.
IBM helped Boston Scientific and its partners build a blockchain pilot on IBM Cloud, using IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service and Hyperledger Fabric to automate orders, mirror transactions and documents on smart contracts, and add product scanning integrations. The solution eliminated hundreds of manual orders, emails and invoices each month at Clinica Las Americas Auna and cut order fulfillment time from 5–6 days to just 36 hours.
