Bolstering mainframe infrastructure and management to achieve integration, agility and security

Banco de Brasília S.A. (BRB), a Brazilian bank serving more than 7 million customers, needed to improve monitoring of its mainframe environment after migrating to IBM z15. Its challenge was to automate activities, integrate high- and low-platform monitoring, and gain better visibility into performance, availability, and security across its services.

IBM implemented IBM Tivoli Enterprise Portal and IBM OMEGAMON Data Provider, part of IBM Z Service Management Suite, to create integrated real-time dashboards and alerts across z/OS, Db2, CICS, MQ, storage, network, and Java components. The result was a more proactive observability model, earlier warning of Db2 storage issues, and improved operational efficiency, performance, and security across BRB’s mainframe and distributed environment.
