A IBM Case Study
Bestseller India, the fast-growing fashion retailer behind brands like Only, Jack & Jones and Vero Moda, was struggling to understand why its top-selling label was slowing down in India’s highly diverse and fragmented market. The company turned to IBM, looking for a partner that understood both fashion and advanced technology, and used IBM Consulting and IBM Garage to explore how AI could replace instinct-based planning with data-driven decisions.
IBM helped Bestseller India build Fabric.ai, the country’s first AI-powered fashion planning and forecasting tool, using IBM Watson, IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service and intelligent workflows. The platform improved preseason design, assortment planning, and store-level forecasting, helping teams predict product performance and focus on higher-value work; it was first launched for Only and was designed to scale to additional brands. The solution also supported sustainability goals by helping reduce waste and align production more closely with demand.
