Servizi Informatici Bankadati (Bankadati), the technology service company for a banking group with three retail banks, 540 branches and 4,300 employees in Italy, needed greater IT and process flexibility as it shifted from a product-centric to a customer-centric model. To digitize and speed deployment of more than 2,000 processes and give business users autonomy, Bankadati turned to IBM, deploying IBM Business Process Manager and IBM Operational Decision Manager.
IBM’s implementation enabled business users to deploy low-complexity processes without IT involvement, reduced the number of processes requiring formal authorization by 60%, and cut development and deployment time for simple processes by 99%—from about 50 days to roughly four hours—freeing IT to focus on complex, highly integrated processes and improving customer service levels.
