AusNet Services amps up its human resources operations with IBM and SAP

AusNet Services, one of Victoria’s largest energy transmission and distribution companies, needed to modernize its human resources operations after discovering underpayments and finding its HR platform was fragmented across three systems. With IBM and SAP SuccessFactors consulting services, the company set out to simplify complex time, attendance, payroll, and approval processes for more than 1,300 employees.

IBM helped AusNet Services implement SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and related modules, consolidating 38 business processes into one system and reducing manual intervention. The new platform sped up hiring approvals from up to two weeks to daily approvals, enabled mobile timesheets and automated pay rules, and is expected to cut HR administrative time by up to 50% over five years.
