A IBM Case Study

Preview of the BuzzFeed Case Study

Attracting top talent at speed and scale by matching high-performing candidates to their ideal roles

BuzzFeed, a fast-growing tech-powered media company, faced rising application volumes and needed a better way to identify the best candidates for hundreds of open roles. Working with IBM and its partner Uncubed, BuzzFeed used an AI-driven recruiting experience based on IBM Watson Candidate Assistant to help match applicants to roles and reduce time spent on screening.

IBM’s solution let candidates ask questions, receive personalized responses, and be guided toward the jobs that fit them best through text, video, and links to openings. The pilot delivered strong results: applicants coming through IBM Watson Candidate Assistant were 64% more likely to progress to face-to-face interviews than those from other sources, improving hiring efficiency and helping reduce the risk of mis-hires and attrition.
