Case Study: ASPHI Onlus improves accessible learning with IBM watsonx

A IBM Case Study

Preview of the ASPHI Onlus Case Study

ASPHI Onlus uses IBM watsonx to empower readers across barriers

ASPHI Onlus, an Italian nonprofit focused on digital inclusion, wanted to make reading and learning more accessible for people with hearing and cognitive impairments and for non-native Italian speakers. To address these barriers, ASPHI Onlus partnered with IBM and used IBM watsonx tools to explore how generative AI could improve educational access.

IBM helped implement “Limpide Letture” and the “LucIA” virtual assistant using IBM watsonx.ai, watsonx Assistant, IBM Cloud Code Engine, and IBM Cloudant. The solution simplifies and personalizes texts, generates summaries and quizzes, and provides real-time support; the POC is expected to help up to 100,000 users, enable students to read at least 30 narrative documents per year, and reduce drop-off in learning programs.
