Aon Italy, the Italian branch of Aon, needed to modernize its insurance and risk operations to stay competitive, reduce manual work, and better manage sensitive, regulated data. Working with IBM, it began a digital transformation using IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation and IBM Cloud Pak for Integration on Red Hat OpenShift to streamline underwriting and other business processes.
IBM implemented an automated, containerized platform that connected applications, managed business rules, and added workflow, RPA, and AI-powered content management capabilities. The results included fewer errors, faster quote generation, improved data quality, cost savings, and even some revenue increases; in underwriting, a process that once took three days for a quote was significantly accelerated, while Aon Italy also benefits from processing 30,000+ emails per month more efficiently and supporting 1,600 employees across 25 offices.
