Antonello Produce uses IBM Food Trust to simplify product traceability from seed to store shelf

Antonello Produce, a family-owned fresh produce business in southeastern Australia, needed a better way to trace food from farm to shelf and support its new East Fresh brand. Working with IBM and its IBM Food Trust solution, the company wanted to move away from paper-based tracking so it could give customers, suppliers, and retailers clearer visibility into product origin, safety, and sustainability.

IBM and IBM Business Partner Archisage implemented a centralized digital traceability platform, starting with watermelons and later expanding to pumpkins and sweet potatoes. The result was faster recall and documentation processes—what once took days can now be done in minutes—and the system now tracks roughly 20 tons of watermelon per week and is built to scale across more than 300 product lines, helping Antonello Produce build trust and potentially improve margins.
