Preview of the Insurance Company Case Study

An IBM solution for business process management helps organization save USD1.5 million annually

An insurance company faced a manual and labor-intensive process for handling financial reference data change requests. The lack of a formal approval system was causing inefficiencies and unauthorized changes. To address this, they worked with IBM to implement a business process management (BPM) solution.

IBM implemented its BPM offering using IBM Blueworks Live, IBM Business Process Manager, and IBM Operational Decision Manager software, beginning with a Quick Win Pilot project. This new solution automated the change request process and integrated with the company's existing Oracle tool. As a result, the insurance company achieved USD 1.5 million in annual maintenance savings by retiring several old systems, while also greatly improving the speed, consistency, and oversight of its processes.
