A IBM Case Study
Alinma Bank, a Shariah-compliant Saudi financial institution, needed to modernize its B2B onboarding process and make it faster for government and corporate partners to connect and test APIs. Working with IBM and its existing IBM DataPower Gateway environment, the bank sought a more agile integration platform to support open banking and broader digital transformation.
IBM implemented IBM Cloud Pak for Integration with Red Hat OpenShift, migrating services from physical DataPower appliances to API management and virtual DataPower capabilities, while also replacing SOAP web services with REST APIs. The new platform cut onboarding steps by 50%, reduced partner testing from weeks to a single day, doubled the number of services offered, and shortened new service development to less than five days.
