Printus GmbH, a German online office-supplies retailer serving more than 4 million customers, needed to modernize its aging IBM Power8-based SAP environment to improve performance, scalability, and availability while preparing for a future SAP S/4HANA migration. The company worked with IBM and IBM Business Partner SVA to replace its existing infrastructure and avoid end-of-support risks.

IBM implemented two IBM Power E1080 servers, IBM PowerVC, IBM Storage FlashSystem 7300, and a refreshed tape library, enabling a fast, seamless migration with Live Partition Mobility and no planned downtime. The upgrade improved efficiency, reduced energy and capital costs, increased security and reliability, and gave Printus a flexible platform for growth and SAP S/4HANA readiness.
