Achieving fast, uninterrupted deliveries with IBM Power Virtual Server

Proximity, an IBM i application specialist and operator of the Stream transport management platform, needed a more scalable and reliable disaster recovery solution as its logistics customers depended on over 50,000 daily deliveries. Its previous DR provider was becoming too costly and could not keep pace with Stream’s growth, putting business continuity at risk. Proximity turned to IBM and IBM Power Virtual Server, with support from IBM Gold Business Partner Covenco, to protect its mission-critical logistics operations.

IBM implemented IBM Power Virtual Server as a cloud-based DR environment that replicates data in real time and scales almost instantly during outages. The result was a faster, more flexible recovery process that cut disaster recovery costs by 80% and improved recovery speed by 50%, while also simplifying maintenance on Proximity’s primary IBM Power servers.
