Accelerating DevOps and reducing costs with smart information integration and governance

BinckBank, an online bank, needed a way to provide its developers with realistic test data without the prohibitive cost and time required to fully replicate its massive Oracle production databases for its 13 test environments. To overcome this challenge, the bank turned to IBM and its InfoSphere Optim Test Data Management solution.

The IBM solution enabled BinckBank to automatically extract a smaller, referentially intact subset of its production data and load it into test environments. This approach resulted in a 90% reduction in Oracle database server and storage costs for testing. IBM's tool also accelerated the data provisioning process, allowing for weekly test dataset refreshes that improve test quality and support the bank's DevOps innovation.
