A IBM Case Study
Garanti BBVA, one of Turkey’s largest banks, needed a faster, more cost-effective way to analyze huge volumes of transactional and operational data while keeping core banking systems secure and available. Working with IBM, the bank used IBM Db2 for z/OS and IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS on IBM z16 and LinuxONE to support both batch analytics and the growing need for near-real-time insights.
IBM’s solution offloaded heavy analytics from the mainframe, accelerated reporting and troubleshooting, and enabled high availability and disaster recovery. The results were significant: a compliance report that once took two days now runs in one minute, and mainframe CPU consumption is reduced by 45 hours each day, helping Garanti BBVA improve performance, lower costs, and support business-critical banking operations.
