abof, an online fashion retailer in India, wanted to create a more seamless and personalized shopping experience while reducing the pain of ill-fitting clothes and costly returns. To address this challenge, abof partnered with IBM and Metail, using IBM e-commerce solutions and a virtual fitting-room experience to help shoppers find the right fit online and on mobile.
IBM implemented a story-driven, mobile-first shopping journey with personalized recommendations and Metail’s “try before you buy” tool, which generates a custom fit model from customer measurements. The results were strong: shoppers using the experience spent 3 times more, had a 2.77 times higher conversion rate, and were 1.78 times more likely to revisit, helping abof boost engagement, sales, and repeat business.
