A IBM Case Study
Elonen Oy, a fast-growing bakery in Finland, needed a better way to handle rising order volumes and a bottleneck in its manual packing and labeling process. Working with IBM and analytics partner Houston Analytics, the company sought to use data more effectively to improve efficiency, reduce shipping delays, and support its expanding national distribution.
IBM helped Elonen implement IBM® ILOG® CPLEX® Optimization Studio alongside a new data warehouse and dashboard to connect outsourced systems and optimize order, labeling, packing, and palletizing workflows. The result was a streamlined, data-driven process that eliminated two manual label-sorting jobs and improved supply chain efficiency by more than 20%, while giving Elonen greater visibility and flexibility to meet future demand.
