A flexible supply chain produces more renewable fuels

Neste, a global leader in renewable fuels and circular solutions, needed a new ERP foundation to support its fast-growing renewable supply chain and provide the traceability required to prove renewable provenance. As its business shifted from traditional refining to sourcing diverse waste-based feedstocks, Neste worked with IBM Consulting for SAP and IBM Consulting for SAP S/4HANA to manage increasingly complex data flows across its global operations.

IBM implemented an integrated SAP S/4HANA platform on Microsoft Azure, supported by cloud migration, process design, and change management services. With IBM, Neste gained end-to-end supply chain visibility, improved process efficiency, and better ability to spot bottlenecks and add new feedstock sources. The transformation has helped support planned renewables production capacity of 6.8 million tons by the end of 2026, with more than 90% of renewable raw materials now coming from waste and residue products.
