Preview of the Canadian Social Services Ministry Case Study

A Canadian social services ministry increases worker productivity while improving outcomes for children and families

The Canadian Social Services Ministry, responsible for protecting children, supporting low‑income families and assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities, faced a need for an integrated, secure electronic repository, automated workflows, up‑to‑date placement/provider information and rapid integration with incumbent systems. To address these challenges the Ministry engaged IBM and deployed IBM Cúram solutions, including Cúram Child Welfare, the Structured Decision Making Add‑on and Cúram Outcome Management.

IBM implemented and upgraded a blend of Cúram software to provide an intuitive workflow, comprehensive client data visibility and secure data sharing across organizations. The IBM solution increased case worker and supervisor productivity, enabled more timely and efficient case management, and improved outcomes for children and families while integrating seamlessly with existing systems for a low‑risk, phased implementation.
